Description:

The construction of the powerstation began in 1963 and it became operational in 1971.Wylfa was the secondnuclear powerstation to be built in Wales after Trawsfynydd in 1959. Followingthe closure of Trawsfynydd in 1991, Wylfa became Wales' only nuclear powerstation.

Project Design:

Kashec carried out astructural assessment of the existing structures for this scheme. We preparedthe safety case for hot gas release scenarios in order to evaluate the adequacyof the structures subjected to blast loadings.
